S&P Global – Brandon Rothrock – 2025

Brandon Rothrock developed strategies enhancing employee engagement in sustainability initiatives to raise awareness and drive behavioral change.

S&P Global has committed to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 and is critically examining their employee engagement related to environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility. S&P Global enlisted Brandon Rothrock to 1) Identify elements of a successful employee engagement strategy; and 2) Develop content for workshops and training sessions that inform employees on sustainability practice and stewardship.

Rothrock developed a sustainability education module for employees, which included information related to S&P Global’s sustainability goals, environmental actions that employees can take both at home and within the company, and how to volunteer and engage with corporate responsibility programs. Rothrock also created sustainability communications content for S&P Global’s intranet website, and devised strategy documents related to the creation of a Sustainability Initiatives Council. Rothrock further crafted sustainability content for Earth Day and planned focus groups related to green team engagement and business travel patterns. Aside from these tasks, he also participated in crafting S&P Global’s CDP response and aided testing of the company’s internal AI capabilities related to corporate responsibility.

Rothrock drafted materials that have the potential to increase S&P Global’s ability to engage with employees on environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility. Implementing the sustainability education module and creating the Sustainability Initiatives Council will foster more collaboration and create a culture of sustainability at S&P Global. Likewise, the communications materials and strategy will increase awareness and understanding of S&P Global’s sustainability initiatives, while the focus groups related to Green Teams and business travel have the potential to influence policy decisions company wide.
