Climate Policy News You Can Use — December 2024

Dear Colleagues,

As the year comes to a close it is difficult not to look ahead toward looming policy opportunities in the new year. January is shaping up to be a very busy month for everyone. As always, we will be in your inbox toward the end of the month with important policy opportunities, and we are always eager to connect or share intel on the latest.

We know folks are preparing for some time off to recharge, so we are keeping it short, but mighty, this month. We hope everyone has a wonderful, relaxing, and recharging Holiday!

Advocate to Protect the Inflation Reduction Act

The 119th Congress plans to stay busy in the new year after they are sworn in. With budget reconciliation looming, it is critical that companies advocate to Members of Congress on the importance of the Inflation Reduction Act to their businesses and investments. As you know, protecting the entire ecosystem of tax credits is crucial to unlocking their full economic potential. Both the manufacturing and consumer incentives must be maintained during any reconciliation process to reach that potential.

A lot of you have announced impactful investments since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. It is incredibly helpful to show the progress being made on those investments and demonstrate the economic and jobs benefits that Members will and already are receiving in district. Advocacy to as many offices as possible, where you have relationships, is key right now.

Take Action:

  • Advocate to Members of Congress to maintain the entirety of IRA programs.
  • Meet with Members whose districts you are investing in and link the specific IRA tax credits and grant programs to your projects and how they are essential to your business. Highlight the expected job creation because of these federal investments.
