Goals

During the fellowship, Bin Wang learned the basic principles and standard methods of work in the field of green finance and the theoretical research and specific practice of CIB in green investment and sustainable development. The work results included sorting and summarizing a green finance monthly report spanning three months, which covered information on green development planning in China and abroad, green investment trends of financial institutions, tracking and analyzing monthly trends, and understanding the progress of CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism).

Through research, Bin wrote a CBAM research report on the establishment of CBAM, the key areas and implementation methods of CBAM, the economic and trade impact on China, and the countermeasures that China should adopt.

Potential Impact

Green Finance Monthly Reports are published on the media promotion page of CIB. The latest policies and events sorting provide timely and convenient access channels for CIB’s clients and green finance researchers in the banking field.

After completing the CBAM research report, CIB plans to focus on CBAM policies. This report established the framework for completing CIB’s internal carbon tariff report project and laid the foundation for the project declaration and follow-up work.
