Xactly – Austin Brandt – 2022

Goals

In May 2022, Xactly signed a pledge to reduce company emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve Net-Zero emissions by 2050. Given the company’s challenge of limited internal staff resources and environmental expertise, Xactly enlisted Austin Brandt to help the company lay the groundwork for measuring and meeting these emissions reduction targets.

Solutions

Brandt helped lay the groundwork for Xactly to meet its climate goals by:

  • Ensuring accurate emissions accounting to allow Xactly to measure progress toward its climate goals. Brandt identified gaps in emissions reporting and addressed them by correcting data and establishing a uniform energy usage reporting process and spreadsheet to help accurately measure Scope 2 emissions.
  • Establishing a climate strategy to meet Xactly’s climate pledge by helping develop a framework to reduce emissions through renewable energy procurements and carbon credits.
  • Drafting public reporting templates to provide a starting point for annual public reporting on Xactly’s climate progress.
  • Charting a path forward by providing recommendations on ways the company can continue improving its climate efforts and drafting possible job duties for a potential climate staff position within the company.

Potential Impact

As a result of these projects, Xactly is better able to measure its emissions, reduce those emissions by finalizing and following a climate strategy, report on emissions reductions to its customers and other stakeholders, and identify next steps on improving its environmental initiatives. As a result, Xactly now has a foundation upon which to build and improve its climate efforts so that it can meet its goal of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
