Climate Corps Projects
YMCA of Greater Monmouth County – Muhammad Nauman Khurshid – 2020
Goals
As a non-profit organization, it is a challenge for the YMCA to invest large amounts capital into efficiency upgrades so the key to the program was to qualify for the incentives provided by the state and utility companies.
Solutions
Mr. Khurshid worked with the New Jersey Natural Gas energy efficiency team and found that their engineered solution provides the best incentives which cover up to 50% of the cost and the rest of the cost can be financed at 0% interest to YMCA.
Impact
The program is under review and if approved is expected to improve the overall energy efficiency by at least 20% when completed.
