What We Do
Climate Corps Projects
Northampton County – Rebecca Enfiedjian – 2012
Goals
Rebecca Enfiedjian was asked to evaluate energy efficiency opportunities at Northhampton County’s Courthouse Square, Public Works building, 911 Call Center, Administration Building and Animal Shelter.
Solutions
Enfiedjian focused particularly on lighting, recommending that the county phase out T12 flourescent fixtures in favor of more-efficient T8s, as well as an incandescent-to-CFL (compact flourescent lamp) retrofit. With the help of the Public Works Director, Enfiedjian also examined financing for HVAC upgrades.
Potential Impact
These projects could save Northampton 70,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity annually, as well as 50 metric tons of carbon emissions. The HVAC upgrades could annually save Northampton 150,000 kWh of electricity in just one building.
