What We Do
Climate Corps Projects

Clark Atlanta University – Timothy Rose – 2011

Goals

Timothy Rose spent his summer as an EDF Climate Corps fellow at Clark Atlanta University (CAU) in Atlanta, Georgia.

Solutions

Rose worked with the management team to set goals for CAU’s path toward sustainability. The first was a 20 percent reduction in annual energy use within a 10-year period using 2008 data as a baseline. The second goal was to apply for LEED-EB Operations and Maintenance certification by 2016. The third goal was to establish 2018 energy reduction targets.

Potential Impact

Rose spent much of his time developing energy projects for CAU’s graduate students. He recommended the creation of a business cohort for MBA students to manage Environmental Sustainability research, as well as a competition for Computer Science students to write program for data accumulation from research.
