Albemarle Corporation – Jing Li – 2025

Jing Li conducted corporate sustainability research at Albemarle by analyzing the impacts of policy trends and market practices on business operations.

The primary objective of the fellowship at Albemarle is to conduct sustainability research on the impacts of policy trends and market practices. Jing explores sustainability-related regulations in China, studying their impact on business operations. Jing is also responsible for summarizing and analyzing ESG reports of Albemarle and other enterprises from peer industries and suppliers, evaluating the potential impacts on the future development of lithium industry.

1. A summary documentation and highlight deck of the 2024 Albemarle Sustainability Report in Chinese for further communication.
2. A collection spreadsheet that serves as a regulatory inventory, containing 185 relevant regulations and detailing titles, issuing authorities, publication dates, and other information.
3. A slide deck that incorporates key insights that are particularly relevant to Albemarle’s operations, including policy framework and timeline, important provisions, and corresponding influence on business.
4. A comparison analysis of ESG reports among peer industries and key customers for suggestions.

Based on the findings of policy research and industrial practice analysis, Albemarle will focus on further decarbonization by improving energy efficiency and renewable electricity procurement, and at the same time, pay attention to the carbon pricing mechanism. Meanwhile, Albemarle as a supplier will provide traceable and highly transparent lithium products that can meet requirements targeted at regulations and customers, and ensure compliance audits such as IRMA, RMAP certification, etc.
