Beacon Capital Partners – David Cushman – 2013

Goals 

David Cushman worked as an EDF Climate Corps fellow with Beacon Capital Partners, an industry leading private real estate investment firm located in Boston, Massachusetts. He was asked to focus his project on bridging the educational gap between brokers responsible for leasing commercial real estate and the sustainability of the properties being leased. 

Solutions

Cushman helped create an innovative communication program that makes property level sustainability more approachable and understandable. This program communicates the financial and employee centric business case of sustainability efforts within commercial real estate. 

Potential Impact

Beacon Capital Partners is the EPA ENERGY STAR’s Commercial Real Estate Partner of the Year for 2012 and 2013; with this original program they hope to become an EPA ENERGY STAR Sustainable Partner.
