Black Fleet Network – Adekanmi Adeyinka – 2025

Adekanmi Adeyinka developed a fully functional minimum viable product of EV Transition Assessment Tool for Black Fleet Network to address critical gaps in fleet electrification resources. Through extensive stakeholder research and platform development, he created an integrated web-based solution featuring six modules that provide fleet operators with assessment capabilities.

Black Fleet Network, an organization dedicated to creating greater equity within the fleet industry for Black, African American, and Black African descent professionals, recognized a critical opportunity in fleet electrification. Despite growing electric vehicle adoption, Black and minority-owned businesses, along with organizations serving underserved communities, lacked resources for successful fleet transitions. Black Fleet Network enlisted Adekanmi Adeyinka to develop an EV Transition Assessment Tool that would provide equitable access to fleet electrification resources, training, and supplier networks.

Adekanmi Adeyinka approached the challenge using a comprehensive two-part process. First, he conducted extensive industry research and stakeholder engagement by interviewing 20 fleet professionals. This research phase analyzed operational data from fleets representing diverse North American geographies and industries to identify critical gaps in assessment tools, training resources, and supplier access. Second, Adekanmi Adeyinka designed and built a web-based platform featuring six main integrated modules: a fleet assessment dashboard with total cost of ownership calculations, infrastructure planning, role-specific training modules, a scenario modeler, a verified supplier directory, and an artificial intelligence assistant for real-time user support. The platform successfully integrates all essential fleet electrification tools into a single, user-friendly interface.

The EV Transition Assessment Tool provides fleet operators with a comprehensive, data-driven platform for making informed electrification decisions. The tool successfully addresses critical industry gaps by combining assessment capabilities, training resources, and supplier connections in one integrated solution. Adekanmi delivered a fully functional minimum viable product that has been tested with industry stakeholders and validated through user feedback.
