CA Technologies – Edward Snook – 2015

Goals

Having recently achieved an ENERGY STAR rating of 97 for one of its facilities, CA Technologies has made tremendous strides toward operating a more sustainable business. Wanting to extend its sustainability practices further, CA Technologies hired EDF Climate Corps fellow Ted Snook to assess further green building certification potential.

Solutions

Working side-by-side with the Facilities and Corporate Social Responsibility teams, Snook navigated data and tenant-landlord issues to evaluate certification viability. He also surveyed current operational practices and compared them to green building criteria. Additionally, Snook was able to identify potential future low- or no-cost sustainability efforts.

Potential Impact

Snook identified the costs and some small modifications to operations and maintenance that could lead to a healthier, cleaner and more productive work environment for employees as well as the potential for future green building certifications.
