CA Technologies – Eric Misbach – 2012

Eric Misbach worked with CA Technologies, an information technology management software and solutions company, to improve waste management at the company’s nearly 140 offices.

After analyzing CA’s current waste management strategy and processes, Misbach designed a tool to baseline and track reductions of landfill waste from all CA offices, as well as a plan to improve recycling and composting in the Framingham, Mass., office, where he was based. Composting could divert nearly 20 tons of waste per year to compost, replacing nearly $2,000 in trash hauling fees with composting fees.

Misbach also designed an integrated communications plan, which includes guidelines for expanding across CA’s office portfolio, and sought opportunities for electricity savings, such as an occupancy sensor upgrade on Framingham vending machines that could save nearly $1,000 every year.
