Caesars Entertainment – Saeed Rezvani – 2012
Goals
Saeed Rezvani was paired to work with Caesars Entertainment to identify potential energy and cost saving opportunities in four areas: occupancy, lighting retrofits, delamping and reusable beverage cups.
Solutions
Rezvani’s occupancy sensor evaluation identified savings in “back of house” areas in Caesars Palace, Flamingo, Harrah’s, Bally’s, Imperial Palace, Rio, Planet Hollywood and Paris. He determined that Caesars Entertainment could save more than 70% on lighting costs in electrical and mechanical rooms in these locations, and that this lighting technique could be scaled up to its properties nationwide.
Potential Impact
In total, Rezvani’s projects could save Caesars’ over $180,000 and 3.5 million kilowatt hours every year, enough to power 278 Nevada residential homes for a year. Additionally, they could avoid the emission of over 1,900 metric tons of carbon dioxide across the company’s Las Vegas properties every year.
