What We Do
Climate Corps Projects

facebook – Spencer Evans – 2012

Spencer Evans worked from Facebook’s newly renovated headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., to identify energy efficiency opportunities in lighting. This was Facebook’s second year working with EDF Climate Corps, but the first since being fully established at the new campus.

With the help of Facebook’s Facilities and Real Estate team, Evans identified interior and exterior lighting projects. He also worked closely with vendors to discover technologies, rebates and financing options that cut down the net investment and improved the savings of these projects.

Ultimately, Evans’ portfolio of lighting efficiency recommendations could save Facebook $875,000 in operating costs and over 3,100 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over the project lifetimes.
