Goals
Google’s goal is to achieve net zero emissions across all of its operations and value chain by 2030. Google aims to reduce the majority of emissions (compared to a 2019 baseline) before 2030. The Supplier Responsibility team enlisted Petya to investigate options to streamline supplier net zero engagement.
Solutions
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for the introduction of automated tools that will improve efficiency and scalability of existing programs.
- Conducted research on peer and best-in-class supplier engagement platforms and created a list of recommendations for effective tool creation for scalable supplier climate data collection and net zero engagement management.
- Explored ideas for supplier incentive programs that could be facilitated through the use of a portal.
Potential Impact
Petya developed key criteria and recommendations that could assist in scaling future supplier decarbonization efforts.
