Google – Robert Little – 2020

Goals

Since its inception, the global technology company Google has strived to make sustainability a core part of everything it does.  In 2019, Google launched its circular economy initiative to maximize the reuse of finite resources across its operations, products and supply chains, and enable others to do the same.  In 2020, Google via Adecco enlisted the help of Robert Little to help strengthen internal knowledge and accelerate technology initiatives that enable a more circular economy for plastics.

Solutions

Robert conducted and advised on a number of workstreams pertaining to methods and opportunities for taking action on plastic waste including things such as consumer recycling incentives, improving identification of recyclers, trends in global plastic pollution, and activities by major companies.

Impact

Robert’s advisory on global recycling trends and circular plastics considerations will help Google develop insights and tools that foster a more circular economy and sustainable future.  Specifically, Robert’s work will be woven into prototypes and projects aimed at fostering informed and frequent consumer recycling, as well as help put Google users on a path to make more informed sustainable choices and behaviors.  Through this work, Google is aiming to help its users to recycle right and recycle more, thereby maximizing the reuse potential of our world’s finite resources.
