Arvind Kumar supported Janaagraha with the program design of the Assam Government’s Doh Shaher, Ek Rupayan (Ten Cities Development) initiative.

Goals

Janaagraha enlisted Arvind to support The Ten Cities Development Program aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal services and infrastructure in small and medium-sized cities of Assam.

Solutions

To achieve the above-mentioned goals, Arvind contributed to several strategic initiatives:
1. Conducted extensive field visits and stakeholder interviews in four cities
2. Developed a questionnaire to assess human resources utilization within Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and identify critical skill gaps and areas for improvement
3. Compiled a CSR strategy document, identifying potential partners and relevant policies to facilitate collaboration for urban development projects
4. Documented best practices and created a repository of successful urban development initiatives in other cities across India

Potential Impact

Arvind’s work provides Janaagraha with actionable data and insights to inform the Ten Cities Development Program. Additionally, the practical tools, comprehensive documentation, and compilation of best practices developed by Arvind form a valuable resource for more effective urban governance strategies in Assam.
