As an EDF Climate Corps fellow with Sodexo, Isabel Bonnyman supported the company’s efforts to measure and reduce its carbon and water footprint. With Sodexo adapting to a new reporting calendar and evolving regulatory requirements, her fellowship focused on delivering accurate, audit-ready data while identifying long-term opportunities to embed efficiency and sustainability across operations.

Solutions

Bonnyman strengthened and standardized utility data across Sodexo’s U.S. portfolio, applying more rigorous estimation factors to improve accuracy and resilience. Her work prepared Sodexo for external audit requirements under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). She also scoped the business case for a digital utility management platform that could transform how Sodexo manages resources across sites, freeing up capacity to shift from resource measurement to management. To build a culture of sustainability, she created employee engagement tools, including an interactive commuter impact calculator and materials for an e-waste recycling campaign.

Potential Impact

Her contributions helped Sodexo navigate its external audit with confidence and laid the groundwork for faster, more integrated sustainability cycles in the future. By charting a roadmap for digital transformation, she highlighted pathways to operational efficiency, cost savings, and more equitable renewable energy procurement.
