Warburg Pincus – Daphne Patterson – 2013

Goals

Daphne Patterson worked with Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm focused on growth investing, based in New York with more than $35 billion in assets under management, as part of the firm’s continuing efforts to enhance its “ESG” (environment, social, and governance) program.

Solutions

Four portfolio companies expressed particular interest in receiving support from Patterson to assist with identifying cost-effective energy efficiency opportunities. In addition to highlighting potential savings through energy audits, Patterson also worked closely with these portfolio companies to assess, with the goal of enhancing, their energy management efforts to date. Given the varying profiles and locations of the companies in the Warburg Pincus portfolio, Patterson sought to identify discrete projects that could be relevant and easily transferred to other companies regardless of circumstance, such as PC power management and lighting upgrades. Patterson also provided recommendations and case studies to Warburg Pincus, in order to help communicate to its broader portfolio a variety of strong examples of cost-effective opportunities that both drive value and positively impact the environment.
