Climate Policy News You Can Use: Join us for DC Climate Week!
Published: April 1, 2026 by EDF Staff
Dear Colleagues,
I have an exciting event to share for our colleagues based in DC. In partnership with Pure Strategies, EDF is planning an event for DC Climate Week on Monday, April 20. Titled, “Finding Common Ground: Aligning Sustainability Strategy and Government Affairs Priorities,” this event will provide a forum for Sustainability and Government Affairs teams to not only connect but learn from each other to consider pressing and emerging issues. After a brief panel, you will have the opportunity to break into small roundtables to have closer discussions on a specific theme for each table, such as AI and datacenters, energy and permitting, or nature and biodiversity.
We’d love for you to join us! If you can’t make it, please forward it around to your team and DC-based colleagues. Now, please see below for a few policy updates.
Endangerment Finding Litigation
In case you missed it, EDF, along with a broad coalition of health and environmental groups, filed a lawsuit challenging the U.S. EPA’s rescission of its greenhouse gas Endangerment Finding and vehicle emission standards. Other groups have joined the litigation as well, and key filings for the case can be found on our legal resources webpage. If you are concerned about the harmful impacts of EPA’s rescission or would like to discuss further, please reach out.
California Request for Feedback on GHG Reporting
The California Air Recourses Board (CARB) is inviting feedback on the GHG reporting concepts it presented in its March 23 workshop. Comments to CARB are due April 13. For more on the California climate risk disclosure program, please check out our latest blog and reach out with any questions.
Keeping up with the US Administration
The IRS issued interim guidance providing two safe harbor options for clean energy facilities or manufacturers of energy components to determine the extent to which they received “material assistance” from a foreign entity of concern.
