Jenny Mandel

Jenny Mandel is Director of Data Center and Clean Electricity Finance on EDF’s Sustainable Finance team. She works with investors, technology companies, utilities and other stakeholders to advance environmental performance and responsible capital allocation across the AI ecosystem.

Jenny engages with companies and investors to align financial flows with data center sustainability, with a focus on energy and water use, impacts on neighboring communities, and the transition to clean, affordable and reliable electricity. Her work includes developing analytical frameworks and investor tools, and collaborating on policy, regulatory and standards-based approaches to improve data center practices and enable decarbonization.

Before joining the nonprofit sector, Jenny spent more than a decade as a reporter with E&E News covering the policy, politics, science, and business of energy. She reported extensively on the oil and gas sector, energy research and innovation, and state and federal policy. She holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University in computer and cognitive sciences, and a master’s degree from Duke University in environmental leadership and management.
