Maximilian conducts research and analysis to improve financial sector net-zero transition plans. He works with a variety of stakeholders to develop tools that manage climate risks and opportunities, and tracks the evolving landscape of voluntary and regulatory ESG frameworks. Prior to EDF, Maximilian was an independent consultant on a variety of environmental justice projects: nature-based solutions to extreme heat, land-use impacts of afforestation, and sustainable development in Rwanda. He is a graduate of Yale School of the Environment and the Rochester Institute of Technology.
