Transportation
Breaking down barriers and identifying opportunities
Transportation is a major source of emissions that harm the climate and human health. Demand for freight movement is expected to grow significantly, and is driving increased consumption of fossil fuels, especially diesel. Certain zero-emission medium duty vehicles have already reached total cost of ownership parity for some uses. Costs continue to fall, and performance continues to improve.
Unfortunately, corporate use of existing zero-emissions vehicles and projections of future adoption are too little, and too slow. EDF is working with partners to identify and address barriers to adoption, demonstrate opportunities, catalyze stakeholders, and advocate for enabling policies.
